King Tut and the DMA.

Took a lovely trip to the DMA to see the King Tut exhibit! Luckily Christi is a member so we didn't have to pay the $15 parking or the $32 tickets! Everything was really beautiful, tons of detail and you could see the dedication that went into all the jewelry and sculptures they made. Sadly there were no mummies, but it was really excellent to learn a bit more about the history and culture. My 4 years of art education came back to me and all the info we learned at the beginning at every class. It was fun sharing all the extra tidbits I remembered.

You can see a bit of Tut in the background of this one.

The Adventure Begins

This blog is meant to chronicle the adventures of Megan, Mandy, and Christi. Stories, pictures and memories to follow!

This is where the whole idea for this got started. It was Chinese New Year and we had decided to celebrate by having dim sum (with traditional chrysanthemum tea), visiting a Buddhist temple, and then in American fashion, going to the outlet coach store!

Here we are outside the temple. We had to take our shoes off every time we went inside, Mandy was a bit nervous at first leaving them unattended but I told her stealing shoes outside the temple is the same as stealing bibles from a church! ;)

We went around the grounds and saw all the marble statues representing the deities which have to be carved by hand for them to have legitimacy. We got to see the monks dormatories and even learn a bit of Buddhist history. A very fun day!
